The story behind
Survivor released I’m Not That Man Anymore in 1982, as part of the album Eye of the Tiger. The song was released on May 29 of that year, and was specifically written for the movie Rocky III, requested by Sylvester Stallone. The band recorded it in a studio, and the lyrics talk about a man rediscovering his identity, as if leaving behind something old to start anew. The song charted in the top 10 in the United States, and also reached the top in the United Kingdom, Ireland and Australia. It was a successful single, which was heavily played on the radio and is still recognized today for its energy and message. ↓ Skip to chordsVerse 1
