The story behind

I’ll Be Back, according to DoReSol

The song I’ll Be Back, with its three-part structure reminiscent of an operatic miniature, deviates from the usual pop formula. The piece begins with a section in minor key, creating an introspective atmosphere, before transitioning to a more hopeful bridge in major key, before returning to the melancholic initial theme. This harmonic and emotional complexity, unusual for a song of just two minutes and twenty-two seconds in length, was captured in the studio by engineers such as Geoff Emerick, Ken Scott, and Norman Smith, under the production of George Martin.

This piece is part of The Beatles' third studio album, titled A Hard Day's Night, released in 1964. The record, released through Parlophone, was notable for being the group's first to feature only original compositions, all of them signed by the duo Lennon-McCartney. A Hard Day's Night reached the top of the charts, displacing the group's previous work, With the Beatles, and remained there for twenty-one weeks. The band, formed in Liverpool and consolidated with John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr, was already immersed in Beatlemania, but this album showed an evolution in their songwriting talents, while maintaining the essence of basic rock and roll.
