The story behind
The song I Do to Be, part of the album From the Inside, stands out for deviating from the usual pop line that characterizes much of this work. Along with Love Comes From The Inside, it represents a different sonic exploration within the production. Curiously, two of the tracks on this album, including one that would later become I Do to Be, had an initial release in Italian and Spanish on previous works, such as It's Not Goodbye and Everyday Is A Monday. In fact, Everyday Is A Monday was originally conceived in English before being adapted to other languages.
From the Inside, released on November 5, 2002, marked Laura Pausini's debut in the English-speaking market, being her seventh studio album. The production featured collaborations with renowned songwriters, such as Andreas Carlsson, K. C. Porter, and Patrick Leonard, who has worked extensively with Madonna. This English album was her only foray into that language until Laura Xmas in 2016. Throughout her career, Laura Pausini has demonstrated remarkable versatility, addressing not only themes of love but also social issues, and has been recognized as an ambassador of Italian culture worldwide.
