From One Heart to Another

Per Gessle, one of the pillars of Roxette alongside Marie Fredriksson, already had a previous career in his country. Before forming the duo, Gessle had achieved notable commercial success with his band Gyllene Tider, reaching three number-one albums in Sweden in the early eighties. After the dissolution of Gyllene Tider in 1984, his solo projects did not manage to replicate that same reception. Pearls of Passion was released at a time when Gessle was seeking to consolidate his musical path, and From One Heart to Another is a sample of the experimentation and sound that defined that early stage of Roxette.
