Flying Sorcery

The story behind

Al Stewart wrote Flying Sorcery in 1976, as part of his album Year of the Cat. The song was recorded before Stewart had a title for any of his songs, something he often did. In a Canadian interview, he said he would write up to four different versions of the lyrics for each song. Flying Sorcery is 4 minutes and 22 seconds long, and on Last.fm it has over 75 thousand plays. Although it was not a single, it remains a piece that many listen to and play.
