The story behind

Estoy dispuesto, according to DoReSol

I'm willing sounds like one of those topics you touch on and suddenly everyone in the room starts nodding without realizing it. It's not the typical hit that rises and falls in intensity, but something that sticks from the first chord and stays there, like a loop that needs nothing but its own strength. The drums come in with a dry, almost military strike, and the guitar plays that riff which seems simple but, if you look closely, has a rhythmic twist uncommon in Argentine rock of the 90s. It's not a song that invites you to sing at the top of your lungs, but to feel every word, as if the bass and the voice were one single thing advancing without haste but without pause.

They recorded it in the middle of an exhausting tour, in a Buenos Aires studio that those days seemed more like a garage with good acoustics than a professional place. The album Big Bang came out in August 1994, and although Lamento Boliviano stole almost all the attention, this track went unnoticed by the general public but not by musicians, who used it in rehearsals to work on synchronization. It has an exact duration of four minutes and eight seconds, not a second more or less, as if every note had been measured so the message —which is nothing other than the willingness to keep going— wouldn’t get diluted in unnecessary adornments. In 2021, Mexican singer Junior H gave it a second life by covering it for his album $ad Boyz 4 Life, but in its original version it had already been a well-kept secret among those who seek in music something more than rhythm.
