The story behind
Eres mía, according to DoReSol
Alejandro Sanz recorded it in 3 with a sound that moved between pop and rock, but with a detail that made it stand out: the Portuguese and Italian versions of this album gave it a reach that few Spanish productions achieved at the time. It wasn’t just another album, but a commitment to reach audiences that didn’t always consume music in Spanish. Among its songs, Eres mía shines for its length — five minutes and twenty-seven seconds — which gave it space to develop melodies and arrangements without haste, something uncommon in mid-90s commercial hits.
The album 3 was released on June 13, 1995, under the label WEA Latina, and although it wasn’t his first work, it did consolidate his name in Europe and Latin America. Alejandro Sanz composed almost all the songs, except for Quiero Morir en Tu Veneno, which had another author. The album’s singles — such as La Fuerza del Corazón or Mi Soledad y Yo — had music videos, but Eres mía remained one of the pieces that best represented that moment in his career. Years later, in 2006, the album was reissued with an extra DVD featuring visual material, but the essence of the song remained intact: a blend of emotion and technique that is still easy to recognize.
