The story behind
Soda Stereo wrote En camino in 1986, as part of the album Signos. The lyrics move between ideas that are not fully explained, like waiting until the end of the century or feeling someone's body getting closer. There is a game of repeated phrases, as if they were trying to find a way to say something that remains unclear. In the end, two lines come together to form a new one: “Estamos en camino hasta fin de siglo”.
The song starts with bass, guitar and piano sounds, and then the drums come in. The rhythm is fast, and everything stays like that until the end, where the piano plays the last note. In the years that followed, several versions were released, some with electronic sounds, others live. In the tour Me Verás Volver, they played it only once, in the first concert.
