Before reaching this point in his career, Andrés Calamaro had a very diverse musical journey. From a young age, at eight years old, he received his first instrument, an accordion, and two years later he was already composing his own songs. His inclination toward the electric guitar and piano solidified at thirteen, learning the latter from maestro Osvaldo Calo. His first recording experience was in Uruguay, as a keyboardist for the group Raíces, recommended by Sergio Makaroff. He then went through projects like the Chorizo Colorado Blues Band alongside Augusto Gringui Herrera, and bands exploring rock and sounds inspired by groups like The Platters. He also worked as a session musician for artists such as Los Hermanos Makaroff and Julián Petrina, and was part of bands like The Morgan and Stress, where he shared the stage with figures like Héctor Zeta Bosio and Gustavo Cerati, before the latter evolved into Proyecto Erekto.
