The story behind

The piece Digsy’s Dinner, with its duration of 2 minutes and 32 seconds, emerges from the recording sessions for Oasis' debut album, Definitely Maybe. The music bears the signature of Noel Gallagher, who, in addition to being the main songwriter, contributed lead guitar and backing vocals. The band, originally from Manchester and formed in 1991 under the initial name "The Rain", completed its lineup with Liam Gallagher on lead vocals, Paul Arthurs on rhythm guitar, Paul McGuigan on bass, and Tony McCarroll on drums.

The process of shaping Definitely Maybe was not linear. In January 1994, the group settled into Monnow Valley Studio, near Rockfield, initially working with producer Dave Batchelor, whom Noel Gallagher knew from his time as a tour technician for Inspiral Carpets. However, these early sessions did not yield the expected results, leading to Batchelor's departure. Subsequently, in February 1994, the band moved to Sawmills Studios in Cornwall. There, the album's recording continued under the production of Mark Coyle, who also served as recording engineer alongside Anjali Dutt, Dave Scott, and Roy Spong. The mixing work was handled by Owen Morris, who also shared production credits with Mark Coyle and the band itself.
