The story behind

The raw energy of Rock ’n’ Roll Star is built on a solid rhythmic foundation, with the unmistakable voice of Liam Gallagher leading the way. The song's duration, stretching to 5:23, allows the instrumentation to unfold its power, creating an atmosphere that invites you to let go. The composition, largely the work of Noel Gallagher, relies on the skill of Paul Arthurs on rhythm guitar and the bass line of Paul McGuigan, while the drums of Tony McCarroll set the pulse.

The recording of this track, as part of Oasis' debut album, Definitely Maybe, had a particular process. Initially, in January 1994, they moved to Monnow Valley Studio, near Rockfield, working with producer Dave Batchelor. However, those early sessions did not meet expectations, leading to Batchelor's departure. In February of the same year, the band moved to Sawmills Studios in Cornwall. There, Noel Gallagher took charge of production alongside Mark Coyle, who also participated as recording engineer. At this stage, other engineers such as Anjali Dutt, Dave Scott, and Roy Spong joined. The final mix was handled by Owen Morris, who also collaborated on production with Mark Coyle and the band itself.
