The story behind
The song Como si estuviera by No Te Va Gustar has an energy that grabs you from the first second. Its duration, just under four minutes, is a sonic journey that invites you to immerse yourself in its atmosphere. The band, born in Montevideo in 1994, has managed to build its own sound, fusing influences from Argentine and Uruguayan rock with the rhythmic solidity of genres like reggae and candombe, something that is felt very present in the way they develop their songs.
From its beginnings, No Te Va Gustar has been a project in constant evolution. What started as a trio with Emiliano Brancciari, Mateo Moreno, and Pablo Abdala, soon expanded, incorporating a horn section and more instruments, which greatly enriched their sonic palette. This growth became evident from 1997 onwards, when they began to explore more diverse rhythms. The band's name, in fact, arose from a curious anecdote: when asked what they were called, they replied "no te va gustar" (you won't like it), and the name ended up sticking, becoming their identity.
