The story behind
Soda Stereo recorded Canción animal in Miami in 1990, at Criteria studios. The band was inspired by Argentine bands of the seventies, such as Pescado Rabioso or Vox Dei. The album was released in August of that year, with a harder, more direct sound. It was the first album where the guitar stood out a lot, with riffs and solos that make a difference.
The song De música ligera was born during a sound test in Mexico in 1989. Gustavo Cerati saw it as a potential hit from the beginning. They then traveled to the United States, with Daniel Melero and other Argentine musicians as guests. The result was an album that became one of the most important rock albums in Spanish.
