The story behind
Call of the Wild, according to DoReSol
The song Call of the Wild, with its duration of 4 minutes and 30 seconds, is taken from Roxette's debut album, Pearls of Passion. This record was originally released in cassette and vinyl format in late 1986, launched in markets such as Scandinavia and Canada. Later, in 1997, the album was reissued on CD, including additional material that had not been previously published, and had another remastering in 2009.
Roxette, formed by Marie Fredriksson and Per Gessle, already had individual careers in their native country before joining. Per Gessle, in particular, had achieved notable success with his previous band, Gyllene Tider, managing to place three albums at the top of the Swedish charts in the early eighties. After the dissolution of Gyllene Tider in 1984, his solo projects did not achieve the same commercial impact. The recording of Pearls of Passion featured engineering by Alar Suurna and Robert Wellerfors, under the production of Clarence Öfwerman.
