The story behind

Breathe, according to DoReSol

Pink Floyd wrote "Breathe" in 1972, as part of the soundtrack of a movie called The Body. The idea came up in 1969, when Roger Waters worked with Ron Geesin. The song was recorded between June 1972 and January 1973, and was released on the album The Dark Side of the Moon in March 1973. In the original LP version, "Breathe" was played together with "Speak to Me", as a single piece divided into two parts. During the The Dark Side of the Moon tour, the song was performed live, and they re-performed it in 1994, during the The Division Bell Tour. They also included it in the Live 8 concert in 2005. David Gilmour and Roger Waters continue to play it in their solo concerts. The lyrics are an invitation to stop, to think, to breathe before moving forward.
