The story behind
Bomba de tiempo, according to DoReSol
Gustavo Cerati crafted «Bomba de tiempo» with a rhythm that never stops. The track unfolds in a spiral of intertwining guitars, weaving a hypnotic groove where each section seems on the verge of breaking but never does. The bass weaves clean lines that guide the ensemble, while the drums set a steady pulse that invites movement without notice. It’s one of those songs that, once it starts, you can’t get it out of your head: it sounds like a clock accelerating until it becomes addictive.
The track was born in the same year Ahí vamos was released, in 2006, when Cerati returned to a rawer, more direct sound, far from the polished arrangements of his earlier works. The recording took place in studios across Argentina, Chile, Colombia, and México, and while the album became a commercial success—earning platinum and gold certifications in several countries—the song itself wasn’t meant to be a hit. Instead, it aimed to capture that electric energy that only emerges when things flow effortlessly. Its duration, just over five minutes, gives it room to breathe and expand, as if every note had its own moment to shine.
