The story behind
When you immerse yourself in Beechwood Park, you encounter a piece that transports you to a particular soundscape. The song has a duration of 2 minutes and 44 seconds, and its atmosphere invites you to imagine a specific place. It was created by The Zombies as part of their second album, Odessey and Oracle.
The recording of this album, which includes Beechwood Park, took place mainly between the months of June and August of 1967. The studios that hosted these sessions were EMI, now known as Abbey Road Studios, and Olympic Studios, both located in London. At that time, The Zombies were without a contract with Decca Records and financed these sessions on their own. After signing with CBS, they released some singles and then the full album. Although it did not generate much attention at first, one of its songs, Time of the Season, became an unexpected hit in the United States in early 1969, driven by a recommendation.
