The story behind
Barcelona, according to DoReSol
The song Barcelona by Bacilos has an energy that invites you to move, a rhythm that feels both familiar and fresh. It's one of those tracks that, without being loud, stays with you. What's interesting is how this song, along with others like Caraluna or Mi primer millón, were part of an album that had a significant impact. The complete album, titled Caraluna, was released in 2002 and became a high point for the band, receiving important awards.
Bacilos, a group with members of diverse nationalities such as Jorge Villamizar from Colombia, André Lopes from Brazil, and José Javier Freire from Puerto Rico, was formed in Miami, Florida. Their musical proposal was quite unique, mixing Latin genres like salsa, rumba, vallenato, and son cubano with influences of samba and bossa nova, all with a focus on acoustic guitars. This originality distinguished them in the Spanish-speaking music scene, achieving recognition in both America and Europe, especially in Spain. The album Caraluna, of which Barcelona is a part, was a reflection of this sonic diversity and contributed to consolidating their presence.
