This track is part of a crucial moment in the career of Prince Rogers Nelson, born in 1958 and passed away in 2016. During the 1980s, Prince consolidated himself as a central figure in music, exploring genres such as rock, soul, and funk, and is credited with the creation of the distinctive "Minneapolis sound." This style began to take shape from his third album, Dirty Mind, and was solidified with Controversy in 1981, even influencing the debut album of The Time. The album 1999, released in 1982, marked a milestone as the first recorded with his band The Revolution and catapulted Prince to greater public notoriety, laying the groundwork for a two-year period of great success.
