The story behind
Little Red Corvette (dance mix), according to DoReSol
When you immerse yourself in the energy of Little Red Corvette (dance mix), you encounter a piece that spans over eight minutes, a sonic journey that invites you to get lost. This extended version, with its 8:27 duration, is a clear example of how Prince played with structures and extended the musical experience, inviting to the dance floor and introspection alike. The album 1999, from which it is part, was a turning point, his first record to reach the top 10 of the Billboard 200, peaking at ninth place, and ranking fifth on Billboard's annual list of 1983. It was the first work recorded with his band, The Revolution, marking the beginning of two years of great public projection for Prince.
The music of Prince Rogers Nelson, born in Minneapolis in 1958, defined an era. Although known by his stage name Prince, he also explored identity under an unpronounceable symbol between 1993 and 2000. During the 80s, he consolidated himself as a key figure, a pioneer in the development of the so-called "Minneapolis sound." This style, which began to take shape in Dirty Mind and solidified in Controversy of 1981, was also reflected in the debut album of The Time. Massive success arrived with Purple Rain in 1984, an album that earned him an Oscar for best original score and a Grammy, and which contained hits like When Doves Cry and Let's Go Crazy. In the United States, his album sales exceed 39.5 million, and worldwide, close to 100 million.
