The story behind
Apertura cancionera, according to DoReSol
Opening song opens Cancionera with a gesture that doesn't ask for permission: it enters like someone returning home after a long journey. The track starts with a guitar arpeggio that tangles around itself, as if each note were a whisper repeating before taking flight. The voice of Natalia Lafourcade arrives softly, almost shy at first, but soon fills with that warmth that only songs alive from the first beat possess. There are no digital fillers or studio layers hiding the musicians' sweat: the sound breathes in real time, with that air of an artisan workshop where each instrument has its space without stepping on each other.
The recording of Cancionera was an experiment in three weeks, but not in the sense of rushing deadlines, but of letting the material simmer slowly. In the studios of Sony Music Mexico, in late 2024, Lafourcade and Adán Jodorowsky bet on analog: magnetic tape, live takes, and zero digital corrections. The result is an album that smells of fresh ink and hands still trembling with emotion. Opening song is not just the first track, but the statement of intent: here, life isn't edited, it's left to sound.
