The story behind

The song Narcotic Love, with its 5 minutes and 17 seconds duration, immerses us in a sonic proposal that goes beyond the conventional. The artist, Chichi Peralta, known for his work as a Dominican musician and producer, demonstrates an interesting fusion of genres in this piece. Born in Santo Domingo in 1966, his musical career began very early, building his first instrument at the age of four.

Throughout the 80s and 90s, Chichi Peralta performed as a percussionist in renowned groups such as Fernando Echavarría y la Familia André, Trilogía, and notably, in 4.40 by Juan Luis Guerra, where he remained for eight years. His foray as a solo artist and producer came in 1997 with the international release of his first album, Pa' Otro La'o. Subsequently, in 2000, he released De Vuelta Al Barrio, an album that earned him a Latin Grammy and was characterized by its bold mix of son with jazz, merengue with guaguancó, pop with African rhythms, and bachata with Brazilian and Arabic influences. For this production, he had the participation of the London Symphony Orchestra and the choirs of Luz Africa, with recording sessions held in Paris, France. In 2005, he presented Más que suficiente, an album that also received nominations for the Grammy and the Lo Nuestro award in 2006, and which became one of the best-selling Latin albums in Japan, according to the specialized chain Disk Union. In 2007, Chichi Peralta was named "goodwill ambassador" of the Dom. Rep.
