The story behind
Adam’s Song, according to DoReSol
There are songs that, when played, invite you to unravel their story. Adam’s Song by blink-182 is one of those. Its structure, which begins with a more restrained atmosphere before exploding into energy, conceals a narrative that goes beyond the melody. The total duration extends to 4:09, a canvas on which the layers of sound created by the band are painted.
The production of this piece was led by Jerry Finn, who worked alongside engineers Darrell Harvey, John Nelson, and Robert Read during recording. The task of shaping the final sound fell to Tom Lord-Alge, who handled the mixing. The overall arrangement of the song, as usual, bears the imprint of blink-182 as a group.
