The story behind
50 palabras, 60 palabras o 100, according to DoReSol
The album 'Entre el cielo y el suelo', released in 1986, marked a turning point for Mecano. After leaving CBS, this work propelled them into a new stage of creative and technical maturity, opening the doors to their international success. The album, which sold over a million copies in Spain alone, takes its title from the first line of the song Me cuesta tanto olvidarte.
This album also served to highlight José María Cano as the main composer, in contrast to the previous stage where his brother Nacho predominated in the singles. The production, handled by Mecano, featured mixing by Spencer Henderson and Austin Ince, consolidating a pop sound that evolved from techno to a more eclectic style, with Ana Torroja's voice as the unifying element.
