The Cure

From their beginnings in Crawley, The Cure positioned themselves on the music scene with a sound that evolved rapidly. After a first album, Three Imaginary Boys, which placed them among the emerging post-punk and new wave bands in the late 70s, the group explored a darker and deeper atmosphere. With Seventeen Seconds, released in 1980, they laid the groundwork for what would become known as gothic rock, a direction they continued to explore in works such as Faith and Pornography. It was after the latter, in 1982, that Robert Smith began to incorporate more melodic and accessible elements, opening a path towards broader recognition.

The peak of their popularity arrived in the late 80s and early 90s. Albums like Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me (1987), Disintegration (1989), and Wish (1992) not only consolidated their sound but also produced songs that became emblematic, such as Just Like Heaven, Lovesong, and Friday I'm in Love. Throughout their career, they have released 14 studio albums and over 40 singles, selling millions of records worldwide. Their trajectory was recognized with their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019.
