Tan Biónica

Tan Biónica was born in Buenos Aires in the early 2000s, when four musicians decided to blend pop with electronic music in a way that hadn’t been heard in Argentina before. Their initial sound, explored in a demo called Tapa de moda under the name Biónica Electrónica, already showed that search: danceable rhythms with experimental touches, guitars intertwining with electronic beats, and melodies that invited movement. By 2003, already as Tan Biónica, they released their first studio EP at the Unelelu studio in the city, featuring five songs where the track «Veneno» began to play on radios and led them to perform at Quilmes Rock the following year. That experimental album positioned them as a band that didn’t fit into easy labels: neither pure rock nor just electronic, but something that flowed between both worlds.

The definitive leap came with Canciones del huracán, recorded between 2006 and 2007 at Inartec and Explorer studios. Here, they left behind their initial experiments to embrace a rawer sound, with distorted guitars and structures reminiscent of classic rock, yet without losing that danceable essence. The first single, «Arruinarse», played on every radio station, and hits like «Chica biónica» and «Lunita de Tucumán» solidified their place in the local scene. The album even included a cover of «Queso Ruso» by Patricio Rey y sus Redonditos de Ricota, a nod that many fans still remember. By 2009, the album was reissued alongside Wonderful noches, a maxi they had released in 2003 with additional production by Ariel Mizrahi and Javier Calequi, already showcasing their ability to craft catchy songs with depth in their arrangements.

More about Tan Biónica

Biography

With Obsesionario (2010), the band delivered their strongest blow yet. The lead single, «Ella», was the first in Argentina recorded in 360°, a technical detail reflecting their ambition. The following singles, «Beautiful», «Obsesionario en la mayor», and «Loca», not only dominated Argentine radio but also crossed borders: they played in Chile, Spain, Mexico, and even France. The music videos, produced by Bit Entertainment and directed by Ignacio Lecouna, went viral, and the band became a massive phenomenon without losing their identity. After a hiatus since 2016, they returned in 2023 with a show at Lollapalooza Argentina that announced their official comeback, and in 2025 they released El regreso, closing a cycle that led them to fill stadiums like River Plate’s. Their music, always in motion between danceable and rock elements, remains a bridge between generations.
