La Renga

La Renga is an Argentine band that has left a deep mark on the hard rock scene, characterized by its powerful sound and independent approach. Formed in 1988 in the Mataderos neighborhood, Buenos Aires, by Gustavo "Chizzo" Nápoli, Gabriel "Tete" Iglesias, and Jorge "Tanque" Iglesias, the band has maintained its essence over the years, with the same members since its inception. Their style blends rock with blues influences, creating a distinctive sound that resonates with their audience.

From the beginning, La Renga stood out for its self-management. In 1991, they released their first album, Esquivando charcos, which was partially recorded in their rehearsal space and in a studio. Although the album had an initial limited run of 1,000 copies on cassette, its impact was significant, helping the band gain followers in Buenos Aires' underground circuit. The arrival of Gabriel "Chiflo" Sánchez, who contributed his talent on winds, was crucial in enriching their sound. Despite challenges, such as the separation from Locura, La Renga continued to evolve and strengthen their musical identity.
