More about Attaque 77
Biography
Their first official album, Dulce Navidad, came out in 1989, and although it only had seven songs due to budget issues, it made it clear they weren't just another band. Produced by Michel Peyronel (from Riff), the album blended the bizarre with the everyday, from heartbreak in «Caminando por el Microcentro (Edda)» —a song dedicated to Edda Bustamante— to the irony in the title, which came from a chorus in «Papá llegó borracho». It was at that moment when the band started to solidify, though financial struggles almost led to their breakup before their time. Federico Pertusi, the first singer, left the group due to personal struggles, and Adrián «Chino» Vera joined on bass, while Ciro Pertusi took over as the lead vocalist. This is how the lineup that would make them one of the most listened-to bands in Argentine punk was defined: Mariano Martínez, Luciano Scaglione, and Leonardo De Cecco.
