Adriano Celentano

Adriano Celentano burst onto the Italian music scene in the late 1950s, bringing with him the energy of rock and roll arriving from the United States. His distinctive style of movement while singing, which earned him the nickname "il Molleggiato," set him apart immediately. It wasn’t just about imitation; he captured the essence of this new music that resonated strongly with young people. From the start, he demonstrated an ability to anticipate changes in music and society, incorporating them into his artistic vision.

His career took off quickly, and by 1957 he was performing with his band, the Rock Boys, covering hits from American rock and roll and often adapting the lyrics into Italian. This early momentum led him to participate in major events like the Sanremo Festival in 1961, where his performance of "Ventiquattromila baci" sparked controversy for turning his back on the audience, yet still secured second place. The following year, he triumphed at Cantagiro with "Stai lontana da me," a song with music by Burt Bacharach, marking the official birth of the Clan. This project, more than a record label, functioned as an artistic community that brought together family and friends, including Claudia Mori, who would later become his wife.
