Adriano Celentano

Adriano Celentano was born in Milan, on Via Gluck, on January 6, 1938. His home was a place that would later become the setting for a famous song. His parents were from Foggia, a city in southern Italy, and had moved north to find work. From a young age, Adriano was a restless soul, full of energy and curiosity.

At first, he worked in show business as an impersonator and comedian in Milan’s cabarets. His first step as a singer came in 1957, at a rock and roll festival. There he discovered the music of Elvis Presley and the rock revolution of the 1950s. He was also seen hula-hooping, something he really enjoyed. From then on, he began singing songs that blended genres such as soul, tango, and waltzes.
