Among its songs, «Castigo» and «Principio y fin» stand out for their construction. The first features a riff that repeats a progression in C major with an unexpected twist in the key signature, while the second plays with a tempo change that makes it feel longer than it actually is. Also present is «La luz y la ilusión», which closes the album with a more relaxed air, almost like a breath after the more intense tracks. The full tracklist has 20 songs, but these three best represent the balance between melody and rhythm that the album proposes.
When it was released, Vivi en do did not aim to sound like any other Argentine reggae album of the time. Castro composed most of the songs in his home in Maipú, before moving permanently to Buenos Aires, and this is reflected in the freshness of the lyrics. By 2021, the track «Tú sin mí»—which is not on this album but became emblematic—had already surpassed one billion views on YouTube, a record later added to other achievements by the artist, such as being the first Argentine rock musician to top the charts in the three largest Latin American markets. However, in 2010, the album went almost unnoticed by the general public, though today many consider it a bridge between his early band work and his consolidated solo career.
