About the album

Lucio Dalla, according to DoReSol

Within this work, we find some of Dalla's most recognized pieces. Songs like Anna e Marco and Milano became public favorites, as did L’anno che verrà. In Cosa sarà, Dalla collaborated with Ron on the composition and shared the performance with Francesco De Gregori. A distinctive sonic characteristic of the second half of the album is the incorporation of a string orchestra, which adds a particular texture to the compositions.

It was originally planned for release at the end of 1978, but the record label RCA decided to postpone the date to boost sales of the single Ma come fanno i marinai, a collaboration between Dalla and De Gregori, during the Christmas season of that year. Finally, the album was released in February 1979. The success was considerable, selling over 500,000 copies and becoming the best-selling album of that year in Italy.
