Appuntamento con Ornella Vanoni

The album Appuntamento con Ornella Vanoni, released in 1970, brings together some of Ornella Vanoni's most notable songs up to that point. Although it is not an album of entirely new material, it became a key piece for understanding her career. It includes for the first time on record the song L'appuntamento, which earned her victory at the Mostra Internazionale di Musica Leggera di Venezia. We also find Casa Bianca, which reached second place in the 1968 Festival di Sanremo, and Eternità, presented by Ornella at the same festival in 1970 alongside I Camaleonti, achieving fourth place. Other important participations in shows like Canzonissima 1968 with In questo silenzio and Sono triste, and in Senza rete with Una ragione di più and Finisce qui, are also part of this compilation. The album reached fifth place on the sales charts.

About the album

Appuntamento con Ornella Vanoni, according to DoReSol

This work has been reissued on several occasions, generally maintaining the same graphic image with small color variations. The differences between the various editions can be noticed mainly in the label design: before 1971, Ariston records featured the logo within a silver rectangle, which was later replaced by a blurred inscription. The dates etched in the vinyl grooves also help distinguish the versions. There is even a reissue with a completely different cover while retaining the same catalog number. The song L'appuntamento had a Spanish version, included in the 1972 album Lo Mejor de Ornella Vanoni, under the title Sentado a la vera del camino.
