The story behind

The song You Can Do It by No Doubt, with a duration of 4:15, adds to the sonic universe that the band explored on their album Tragic Kingdom. This work, released on October 10, 1995, represented a turning point for the group, establishing itself as their most commercially successful album. The recording of Tragic Kingdom spanned between March 1993 and October 1995, encompassing eleven different studios in the Greater Los Angeles area. The process featured production by Matthew Wilder, while mixing was handled by David J. Holman and Paul Palmer. This album was the last to feature the participation of original keyboardist Eric Stefani, who left the band in 1994.

From 1995 to 1998, Tragic Kingdom spawned seven singles that resonated on the charts. One of them, Just a Girl, appeared on the Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart. Another standout track, Don't Speak, reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 Airplay and ranked among the top five on numerous international charts. The album, which received mostly favorable reviews, became a phenomenon, reaching number one on the Billboard. The band, formed in 1986 in Anaheim, California, transitioned from Jamaican ska and reggae influences towards a sound closer to soft rock, occasionally collaborating with artists like Lady Saw. While their 1992 debut album did not meet expectations, Tragic Kingdom propelled the resurgence of ska in the nineties and achieved Diamond certification in the United States. Subsequently, Return of Saturn (1998) had a lesser commercial impact, and in 2001 they released Rock Steady, from which hits like Hey Baby and Underneath It All emerged, earning them two Grammy Awards. In 2003, the band compiled their greatest hits on The Singles 1992-2003, accompanied by the single It's My Life.
