The story behind
The track World Go ’Round, with its 4:09 duration, is part of an album that marked a before and after for No Doubt. This work, Tragic Kingdom, was released in October 1995 and was the last to feature the participation of Eric Stefani, who left the band in 1994. The recording spanned a considerable period, from March 1993 to October 1995, covering eleven different studios in the Greater Los Angeles area. The production process was handled by Matthew Wilder, while the final mixing was done by David J. Holman and Paul Palmer.
Tragic Kingdom became No Doubt's most successful album to date, achieving significant commercial impact. Seven singles were released from this album, including Just a Girl, which charted on major lists such as the Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart. Another standout track was Don't Speak, which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 Airplay and ranked among the top five on numerous international charts. The band, formed in Anaheim, California, in 1986, evolved from its ska roots towards a sound closer to soft rock, with strong reggae influences, even collaborating with Jamaican artists like Lady Saw.
