The story behind
The album Viviendo deprisa, released on August 20, 1991, marked a turning point for Alejandro Sanz, leading him to national recognition in Spain. This work signified his debut with the WEA Latina label and was the first album where he composed all the songs. For this, he used the pseudonym A. Medina, a name he had previously employed at the beginning of his career. From this album, singles emerged that resonated strongly, such as Los Dos Cogidos de la Mano and Pisando Fuerte, both accompanied by music videos and which became hits. Other songs that also received a good reception on the radio were Se Le Apagó la Luz and Lo Que Fui Es lo Que Soy. The duration of the title track, Viviendo deprisa, is 3 minutes and 19 seconds.
This album, Viviendo deprisa, was reissued on September 26, 2006, with an expanded edition that included additional material. Alejandro Sanz, whose real name is Alejandro Sánchez Pizarro, was born in Madrid on December 18, 1968. He is an artist with a consolidated career, having sold over 25 million copies of his albums worldwide and accumulated 17 Latin Grammy awards and three Anglo Grammys. His father, Jesús Sánchez Madero, was originally from Algeciras, while his mother, María Pizarro Medina, came from Alcalá. Alejandro Sanz is the nephew of Luis Pizarro, a political figure in Andalusia. He grew up in Madrid neighborhoods such as Pueblo Nuevo and Moratalaz, and spent summers in Alcalá de los Gazules, his mother's hometown.
