The story behind
Vení Raquel, according to DoReSol
Vení Raquel sounds like a shout at the corner of a neighborhood in Buenos Aires, just as the sun sets and the night fills with voices that blend with the wind. It's not just a song: it's that moment when the rhythm suddenly speeds up, as if someone had plugged a loose wire into the corner's speaker. The saxophone of Gabriel “Chiflo” Sánchez enters with a melody that seems plucked from an impromptu dance, while the guitar of Diego Hernán “Cebolla” Demarco and the bass of Pablo Exequiel “Fortunato” Armesto weave a foundation that doesn’t ask permission to move you. What’s most curious is that all of this fits into less than three minutes, yet in that time it leaves you with the feeling that time has stopped.
