The story behind

The song Vampiro, part of the album Tango 4, has an interesting sonic particularity. In its recording, which took place between January and September 1991, Peter Baleani assisted in the Overtone studios. What is noteworthy is that this collaboration occurred specifically on tracks like Vampiro, Sólo Dios sabe, and Diana, suggesting a specific technical or sonic contribution to those pieces. The main track, Vampiro, also features the participation of Gustavo Cerati on guitars, adding another layer to its musical identity.

This album, Tango 4, was a collaboration between Charly García and Pedro Aznar. Within its repertoire, besides original compositions like Vampiro or the hit Tu amor, re-recordings of known songs were included. On one hand, there is Break It All by Los Shakers, presented in Spanish as Rompan todo and featuring the intervention of Sandro. On the other hand, there is God Only Knows by the Beach Boys, adapted into Spanish as Sólo Dios sabe. The album was also enriched by the participation of Alfredo Alcón, who recites biblical texts in Treinta denarios, and Jorge Luz in Cucamonga dance. That year, García, who was 39 years old, was going through a complex personal period related to his addictions, but his commitment to music continued.
