The story behind
Tu amor me hace bien, according to DoReSol
When Marc Anthony released Amar Sin Mentiras in June 2004, it marked an interesting point in his career. This work, which translates to "Love Without Lies," was his fifth album entirely in Spanish and the first in which he explored a more pop-oriented sound within that language. The production was handled by Colombian singer Estéfano, and it also features the voice of Jennifer López. The album received significant recognition, winning the Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album in February 2005. One of the singles released from this album, "¿Ahora Quién?", managed to reach the number one spot on the Latin charts in 2004.
Marc Anthony, whose real name is Marco Antonio Muñiz Ruiz Rivera, was born in New York in 1968 and has Puerto Rican roots. His musical career is quite diverse, encompassing genres such as salsa, bolero, ballad, and pop. In fact, his recording beginnings were in hip hop, forming a duo that reached number one on the US charts in 1991. Later, he shifted towards salsa, achieving sustained success and becoming one of the first Latin artists to earn gold records in Spain. His international projection was also boosted by his participation in Paul Simon's project The Capeman, who selected him for the lead role. The album Amar Sin Mentiras represents a more pop facet of his career, showcasing his versatility as an artist.
