The story behind
Tomorrow Comes Today, according to DoReSol
Tomorrow Comes Today offers us one of the first glimpses into the universe of Gorillaz, being their first music video. Directed by Jamie Hewlett, who co-created the band, this visual clip was fundamental in introducing the fictional characters: 2-D, Murdoc Niccals, Noodle, and Russel Hobbs. In it, we see them superimposed over images of a city, with 2-D singing in the foreground. The video also features the group's appearance and disappearance, along with shots of pills that seem to fly towards the screen. With a duration of 3:14, the song not only marked the beginning of their sonic proposal but also laid the groundwork for their animated visual aesthetic.
