The story behind

In The Trial, the music immerses us in a moment of forced lucidity. After the effect of the drugs, the character of Pink returns to reality and faces an internal trial. The voices of important people in his life resurface in his mind, acting as accusers in this imaginary court. The piece, with a duration of 5:19, is a key piece within The Wall, the conceptual album that Pink Floyd released in 1979. This work, a rock opera, tells the story of Pink, a rock star who isolates himself from the world by building an emotional barrier.

The conception of The Wall arose from Roger Waters during the 1977 tour, inspired by his own experiences and those of Syd Barrett. The production of the album was a collaborative effort, with Bob Ezrin, David Gilmour, James Guthrie, and Roger Waters himself participating as producers, while James Guthrie was in charge of the recording engineering. The album was released by Harvest in the UK and Columbia in the US, achieving notable commercial success and later being recognized as one of the band's most significant works.
