The story behind
When Texturas plays, there's no mistaking it: that initial riff that sticks like a rusty hook, distorted to the limit, and then the rest of the song unfolds in layers of guitars that overlap as if they were fighting each other. It's not just noise; it's a controlled struggle, where each note seems to seek its place while Charly Alberti's drums hit with almost military precision. What surprises most is how it ends: the song fades out with the sound of a tape rewinding, an uncommon device in 90s rock that gives it an unexpected closure, as if the record itself decided to erase itself after being heard.
Recorded at Estudio Supersónico in Buenos Aires during 1992, Texturas was born at a time when Soda Stereo was breaking away from everything they had done before. The album Dynamo, where it appears, hit the market on cassette on October 26 of that year under the Sony Music Latin label, but sales didn't match the release as they had with Canción Animal. However, over time, the album ended up being certified double platinum for pre-sales, and today many consider it one of the band's most intense pieces. Interestingly, Texturas wasn't played in all the shows of the Dynamo Tour (1992-1993), but it resurfaced years later in the Me verás volver Tour of 2007, as if time had finally given it the place it deserved.
