This piece is part of an album, Around the World in a Day, released in 1985, which marked a shift in his sound. Unlike the commercial success of Purple Rain from the previous year, this record explored more elaborate textures and a style that leaned towards the psychedelic. The record label, following Prince's wishes to let the project develop without pressure, opted for a release strategy with little initial promotion, waiting almost a month to release the singles.
Prince Rogers Nelson, born in Minneapolis in 1958 and passed away in Chanhassen in 2016, was a key figure in music, exploring genres such as rock, soul, and funk. During the 80s, he consolidated himself as one of the most influential artists, being recognized as the creator of the "Minneapolis sound."
