The story behind
Paisley Park (remix), according to DoReSol
When you immerse yourself in listening to *Paisley Park (remix)*, you encounter a piece that moves away from more direct formulas. The recording, which lasts 6:59, is part of an '85 work where Prince explored more complex textures and styles that bordered on the psychedelic, distancing himself from the more commercial sound of his previous and successful Purple Rain. The record company, following the artist's wishes to let the project develop without pressure, opted to release it with very little promotion, waiting almost a month to publish the singles.
Prince Rogers Nelson, born in Minneapolis in 1958 and passed away in Chanhassen in 2016, was a key figure in American music. Throughout the 80s, he stood out as one of the most influential and original artists, eventually being considered the creator of the so-called "Minneapolis sound." This sonic identity began to take shape on albums like Dirty Mind and was consolidated in 1981's Controversy, and was even reflected in the debut album of The Time. His popularity reached a peak with Purple Rain in 1984, a work that earned him an Oscar for Best Original Score and a Grammy. Songs like "When Doves Cry" and "Let's Go Crazy" from that album became global hits, catapulting him to worldwide fame. Throughout his career, Prince sold millions of records, both in the United States and internationally.
