Tell Her Tonight

The energy of *Tell Her Tonight* is felt from the first moment. What starts as a more contained idea on the EP *Darts of Pleasure* transforms here into a much more enveloping piece, with an air that borders on the stealthy but without losing a pulse that invites you to move. It is this duality, this tension between the subtle and the danceable, that gives it a special character. With a tight runtime of 2 minutes and 18 seconds, every note is designed to add to that hypnotic feeling.

This track is part of the debut album by Franz Ferdinand, released in February 2004. The recording took place at Gula Studios in Malmö, Sweden, under the supervision of Tore Johansson, who was responsible for the production of most of the album. Two of the songs, however, were produced by the band themselves. The full album, which bears the band's name, burst onto the UK Albums Chart at number three in February 2004. This record, in addition to *Tell Her Tonight*, includes singles that achieved great impact such as *Take Me Out* and *The Dark of the Matinée*, as well as *Michael*. The album was recognized with the Mercury Prize in 2004 and received a nomination for Best Alternative Album at the Grammy Awards.
