This album, released on June 5, 2001, was again produced by the Colombian composer and producer Kike Santander, who had previously worked with the artist on his previous production, Mi Vida Sin Tu Amor, in 1999. The album's main theme, Azul, managed to reach the top of the Latin charts.
Cristian Castro, whose full name is Cristian Sainz Valdés Castro, was born in Mexico City on December 8, 1974. He comes from a family with a strong connection to the entertainment world; he is the son of renowned actors Verónica Castro and Manuel "El Loco" Valdés. His family circle also includes figures such as José Alberto "El Güero" Castro, a producer of Televisa telenovelas, and comedians Germán Valdés, known as Tin Tán, and Ramón Valdés, remembered for his role as Don Ramón in El Chavo del Ocho. Although he began his career in acting, his true calling and what would catapult him internationally was singing. Throughout his career, Cristian Castro has had 29 of his songs reach the top positions on Top Latin Songs, being recognized as the third most outstanding Spanish-speaking singer in the history of Billboard.
