The story behind

Signos, according to DoReSol

When you encounter *Signos*, you come across a piece that stands out for its atmosphere. Unlike other songs by Soda Stereo, this one remains faithful to the acoustic guitar from beginning to end, without resorting to electric guitars, which gives it a particular character, almost as if it were a ballad but without being one. The track begins with a guitar riff that stands out for its *delay* effect, accompanied by synthesizers, creating a sense of mystery before the piano and the rest of the instruments join in. Gustavo Cerati handled the acoustic guitar, Zeta the bass, and Charly Alberti the drums.

This song, written entirely by Gustavo Cerati, was released along with the album of the same name in 1986. Over time, *Signos* has been reinterpreted in various ways. During the *Ruido Blanco* tour, it was performed with two guitars and no bass. For a television appearance in 1988 on the show *Mala Noche No*, Cerati used an electric guitar, while Zeta showcased his bass with remarkable clarity. Later, between 1992 and 1993, on the *Gira Dynamo*, an alternative version was explored with abundant guitar effects and intensive use of *sampling*. At the band's farewell, during *El Último Concierto*, a different interpretation was offered that included full chords on the acoustic guitar, an accordion, and keyboards that evoked the sound of a vibraphone. For Soda Stereo's last tour in 2007, the original pattern was revisited, but with a more modern and electronic sound, culminating in a lighter, more rocking style. A version from this last phase was included in the compilation *Obras Cumbres Vol. 2*. Cerati also performed it in his symphonic concerts between 2001 and 2002. Among the notable covers, there is Tarja Turunen's, who included it in her *WLB World Tour*.
