The story behind
The recording of See You, which lasts 2:27, benefited from the experience of a team of engineers: Ryan Boesch, Todd Burke, Bradley Cook, Don Farwell, Ryan Hadlock, Jason Mauza, and Geoff Turner. The final mix was handled by Chris Sheldon, while the production was by Gil Norton. This track is part of The Colour and the Shape, the second studio album by Foo Fighters, released in May 1997. It was a key moment for the band, as this album was recorded with all its members, unlike the 1995 debut album, which was conceived and executed entirely by Dave Grohl.
The Colour and the Shape is considered a fundamental work of the post-grunge sound. The singles released from this album became regular features on rock radio stations in the United States, and the album ranked among the best-selling of 1997 and 1998. The album even received a nomination for Best Rock Album at that year's Grammy Awards. Following the international success of the first album, Grohl had consolidated the band's lineup with the addition of guitarist Pat Smear, bassist Nate Mendel, and drummer William Goldsmith.
