The story behind
The musical piece titled Sea of Time, with a duration of 3:00, is part of the album Yellow Submarine, released in late January 1969 in the United States and the United Kingdom. This work emerged as the soundtrack for an animated film of the same name, which premiered in London in June 1968. The album included six compositions by The Beatles, among which were Yellow Submarine, which had already appeared on the 1966 album Revolver, and All You Need Is Love, a 1967 single that was later included on the American album Magical Mystery Tour. The remaining tracks on the album consisted of a re-recording of the film's orchestral score, handled by producer George Martin.
The Beatles, an English rock band that was primarily active in the 1960s, established themselves as one of the most successful and acclaimed in the history of popular music. Originating from Liverpool, the definitive lineup, established since 1962, consisted of John Lennon on rhythm guitar and vocals, Paul McCartney on bass and vocals, George Harrison on lead guitar and vocals, and Ringo Starr on drums and vocals. Their early influences were rooted in the skiffle and rock and roll of the 1950s, but over time they explored a wide range of genres, from pop ballads to psychedelic rock, integrating classical elements in an innovative way. Their massive popularity, which began with the "Beatlemania" phenomenon, evolved as their compositions became more complex, eventually being seen as a reflection of progressive ideals and exerting a notable influence on the social and cultural changes of the 1960s. The band forged its reputation in the clubs of Liverpool and Hamburg between 1960 and 1962, with an initial lineup that included Stuart Sutcliffe on bass and Pete Best on drums, before Sutcliffe left the group in 1961 and Best was replaced by Starr the following year. Their consolidation as a professional group came after their agreement with their manager, Brian Epstein.
