The story behind
Run to You, according to DoReSol
The song Run to You by Bryan Adams is an intriguing tale of infidelity, where a man confesses his attraction to a seductive lover despite having a faithful partner. This theme, which resonates strongly in the lyrics, is complemented by a powerful sound and a guitar riff that grabs attention from the very first moment. The story unfolds with an energy that invites you to play it, and the use of a catchy chorus makes it easy to remember and connect with emotionally.
The recording of Run to You began on March 27, 1984, at Little Mountain Sound in Vancouver, and continued until mid-year. Interestingly, this song was initially written on January 10, 1983, and although it was intended to be performed by Blue Öyster Cult, the band rejected it. Later, it was offered to .38 Special, who also decided not to record it. Despite these rejections, Adams and his collaborator Jim Vallance did not give up and decided to record it themselves. The result was a mix that was completed on September 21, 1984, in New York, capturing the essence of the band playing together, which Adams described as hearing the song for the first time. The song not only became a hit, reaching number one on the Billboard Top Rock Tracks and number six on the Billboard Hot 100, but it was also certified gold in Canada in 1985.
