The story behind

"Rebuscado" sounds like an unexpected detour within the first album by La Vela Puerca, that Deskarado which was born almost by chance. The band, led by Sebastián Teysera, had already been blending rock, reggae, and ska with trumpets cutting through the air, but in this track the group settles into a tighter tempo with a groove that seems to have escaped from a street rehearsal. The brass doesn't disappear, but here it becomes sharper, as if the song breathes through short pauses and shifts in intensity that make you move your feet without realizing it.

The recording of Deskarado was made possible after they won the Generación '96 contest, a detail that explains why the album has that sense of urgency: they recorded it with borrowed equipment and under the guidance of Claudio Taddei, a producer who shaped it without losing its raw essence. The song itself, at 2:52 in length, serves as a bridge between what the band already was and what was to come later, when Gustavo Santaolalla remixed the album and re-released it in the Argentine market through Surco/Universal. By then, they had already played at Montevideo's Teatro de Verano, opened for Los Piojos, and even earned a gold and a platinum record, but in "Rebuscado" that first spark of boldness still resonates.
